Eid-El-Kabir: Ogun Youth Chairman sue for peace, unity and religious tolerance

The State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State chapter, Com. Abduljabar Ayelaagbe has charged the youth of Ogun State and beyond to always toe the line of peace, unity, and religious tolerance amongst themselves and be agents of sustainable development for the greatness of our State and country.

The Chairman in his 2021 Eid-el Kabir message made available to the public from Ogun Youth house, MKO Stadium Abeokuta on Tuesday by the Council State Public relations officer. Hon. (Com.) Adebare ARIYIBI, Ayelaagbe urged Nigerian Youths to shun hate speeches, broadcast unverified information capable of disrupting enabling peace in our state, and collaborate with the government and relevant stakeholders to move the Nation forward.

The Chairman identified unity and religious tolerance as a panacea to achieving peace and development. He described unity and religious tolerance as needed tools for achieving cohesion and peace in any country and called on the Muslim faithful and other well-meaning countrymen to preach peace as they celebrate this year’s, Eid Kabir.

He also used the occasion to preach for unity among youth and all segments of Nigerian society which he said has been dangerously divided along religious, political, and ethnic lines, and called on all and sundry to use the opportunity afforded by the Eid-el Kabir celebration to preach peace and dissociate themselves from unverified information that has caused more havoc to our National development in recent times.

Com. Ayelaagbe further urged the Muslim ummah and all faithful across religious lines to always follow the examples of Prophet Ibrahim who is regarded as the father of faith across all major religions the world over.

"There is a need for all of us to live together, irrespective of our political, ethnic, and religious differences". He stressed that what the nation required now is the cooperation and concerted efforts of all to achieve meaningful, purposeful progress and development in our country, especially in this period of security challenges. The Chairman prayed Almighty Allah to grant us long healthy living to witness more celebration in the land of the living.
