OGHA HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS’ FORA ON TWO BILLS ON WEDNESDAY


In its bid to enact all-inclusive legislations to promote peaceful co-existence, through lasting solution to herders/ farmers' clashes to aid food production and aid the operations of the community development in the State, the Ogun State House of Assembly will on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 hold a public hearing on “HB No. 45/OG/2020- The Animal Grazing and Cattle Ranch Establishment Law of Ogun State, 2020” as well as “HB No. 44/OG/2020- The Community Development Association Law of Ogun State”.

A release signed by the Clerk of the Assembly and Head of Legislative Services, ‘Deji Adeyemo, indicated that the stakeholders’ forum on the two bills is meant to harness input and contributions of all relevant stakeholders in the agriculture, community development and allied sector.

The fora, the release noted was meant to harmonize inputs of stakehokders towards having all-inclusive bills to stem the tides of farmers/herders’ clashes through ranching system and setting legislative modalities for the operations of Community Development Associations in the State.

The public hearing, according to the release, would take place at the State House of Assembly Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta at 10:00am prompt, while all the stakeholders are enjoined to be seated at 9.30 am.
