Ayelaagbe Advocates Youth Active Participation In Community Policing

The Ogun State Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe, has expressed the need for active participation of youths in the community policing initiative.

Addressing the role of youths on security building on the Morning Flight of Ogun Broadcasting Corporation OGBC 90.5FM yesterday August 27, 2020, Ayelaagbe encouraged the youths of Ogun State to adopt community policing as a potential tool to emancipate the youths and their immediate communities from the amounting challenges of societal vices.

Ayelaagbe who doubles as a member of the State Community Policing Committee discussed the concept of the police initiative, structures, and expectations from all sectors of the society. “The efficiency and effectiveness of community policing will require a great synergy of all and sundry to stand the test of time,” he said.

The State Community Policing Committee is chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Ogun State, other members include representatives of Traditional Institutions, Religious Institutions, Women and Youth Groups, and CSOs among others.
