Tension In Ogun Community Over Alleged Killing of A Young Man | TND Online News

Tension was reportedly high at Ilisan Remo in Ikenne local government area of Ogun state on Sunday, 5th January, 2020 following alleged stabbing to death of a yet to be identified Yoruba man by a commercial motorcycle rider said to be an Hausa.

According to eye-witness who spoke but pleaded for anonymity said, "trouble began when the passengers who the commercial motorcycle rider carried from Ikenne to Ilisan had allegedly failed to pay the agreed fare.

This unruly behavior was said to have infuriated the Hausa man and subsequently leading to fight during which the Okada rider stabbed a friend of the passengers to death.

The victim was said to have been rushed to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) Sagamu but later died on Sunday afternoon causing the atmosphere to be tensed in the town as fears were heightened that the Yorubas might wanted to stage a reprisal attack.

Police patrol vehicles were seen patrolling the town to ensure things never went out of hand.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun state command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi when contacted said he was unaware of the incident promising to get in touch with Sagamu Area Command for further findings.
